Non-Profit Partners

I believe the world can change, one relationships at a time. My vision for Modern RelationshXps is that as relationships become healthier and more fulfilling through our work together here, there will be an outpour of love and generosity that will extend beyond these primary relationships.

One way this can be manifested is by giving to organizations and movements that can reach a more diverse scope of people and issues that matter to us. I have identified five organizations that align with our values and vision. For each therapy session and each speaking engagement, Carol will donate 3% of the proceeds to these causes, with the client and organizations getting to select the nonprofit who will receive the funds, or spreading it across all five.

Check out these incredible nonprofits, and maybe even consider participating in your own special way. Let’s lean in together and share healing, spread the love, and making the world a better place.

WA THERAPY FUND

Note From WA Therapy Fund founder Ashly McGirt June 2020:

There have been a number of global wellness funds to support the mental health needs of the community during these challenging times. I have found that those funds are quickly used within the first few days of announcements. I support these causes and have personally been able to support clients using them.⁣

I would, however, like to raise money for at least 100 Black women and men, in #Washingtonstate to have access to  #freementalhealth  services.⁣ I am choosing to highlight my birth state so that individuals, couples, and families in Washington state can have access to these funds directly, without being waitlisted on a nationwide list.⁣ ⁣

These funds will cover services during this critical time of intense racial trauma. I am also looking to gather at least 40 black culturally responsive therapist that could take on 2 -3 clients. ⁣ ⁣⁣Therapy is expensive and insurance plans often offer low reimbursement rates for clinicians. Let’s alleviate this financial burden for our Black clients and therapist providing #essentialservices .

ONE TREE PLANTED

(International: addressing climate crisis issue)

Since I was a child, trees have been a place of refuge for me. ONE TREE PLANTED is an environmental charity, on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees! For every dollar donated, one tree is planted.

Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Trees help reduce stress, anxiety, and play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. Learn more by clicking the link below.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

(National: addressing disadvantaged youth issues)

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB was my mother’s saving grace and home as a child. She grew up in the projects of Memphis, TN, the daughter of a working, single-mother. The Club was the place my mom spoke most highly of from her childhood of hardship. It gave her a warm welcome, opportunities to learn and play, and a safe place to be after school.

THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB’S vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle. My mother exemplified the fulfillment of this vision and it’s my honor to continue to support their work.
